The Sr. Storage Engineer is a senior technical resource for all enterprise storage and is responsible for the design, implementation, management, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of related technologies. In addition, this position requires broader knowledge of information technology at large, with an understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate. This engineer should have experience with disk array configuration and management, microcode upgrades, SAN/Fibre switch configuration and connectivity, zoning, ISL, Windows, Linux, and MS SQL disk configurations and have experience with storage monitoring and management tools.Required: (Detailed questions will be asked of all candidates on these topics) A: Significant knowledge and experience with EMC storage arrays and SAN equipment. A: 3+ years as a full time SAN admin. A: Experience with switch and array installations, maintenance, repair, and upgrades. A: Advanced knowledge of RAID configurations including performance and redundancy benefits. A: Understanding of disk I/O performance interaction with high I/O databases. A: Understanding of storage array LUN and meta:LUN provisioning and management. A: Understanding of Fibre Channel switching technology. A: Experience with ISL connected fabrics, split fabrics, and Fibre Channel zoning best practices. A: Experience with day to day SAN Operations (Check Outs on each SAN). A: Able to perform off hours maintenance windows. A: Experience with HBA configuration and management. A: Management reporting and documentation of the SAN environment. A: Understanding of capacity planning and resource management. A: Utilization of Industry Best Practices for both switches and SANA?s.Desired: (Questions will be asked of all candidates if listed on the resume) A: Experience with Brocade Fibre Channel fabrics. A: Experience with virtual storage disk design for production environments. A: Understanding of Thin Provisioning, Fully Automated Storage Tiering, and storage caching. A: Experience with iSCSI or FCOE storage designs and setup. A: Experience with data migration strategies from SAN to SAN. A: Experience with VMAX/VNX:7500/CX4:960/AX4:5.
