The Manager, Solutions Engineering, is responsible for providing technical and thought leadership with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop a team of Solutions Engineers giving them the foundation and skills to assist the sales team(s) in achieving the overall sales bookings and revenue targets at QTS. In this role, you will be championed with leading a highly engaged team of Solutions Engineers to design and architect best in class colocation and managed cloud solutions. This position can be located in our Dallas, Texas or Santa Clara, California office. Coach, Mentor, and develop a team of Solutions Engineers with the required technical skill set needed to design and architect complex hosting and cloud solutions in response to customer and prospect needs Present advanced technical concepts in a clear manner to customers through demonstrations, technical review, and design/proposal presentations. Must be able to communicate with technical and non:technical audiences.Collaborate with sales teams and peers to determine best product and services fit accomplished via conference calls, site visits, and email correspondence.Coach, Mentor, and develop a team of Solutions Engineers with the required business skillset needed to present complex hosting and cloud solutions in response to customer and prospect needs.Work with operational staff as it relates to initiatives that affect the Sales and Solutions Engineering Team(s).Interface with internal teams by working with new product initiatives to ensure completeness and relevance to customer requirements.Provide support by listening to the customer first, establishing strong relationships with both customers and sales teams, demonstrating technical credibility, and making the transformation to a QTS cloud/managed solution as seamless as possible.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Two or more years of proven experience managing Sales/Solutions Engineering teamsFive or more years of experience in data center and/or managed hosting technology and industryKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organizationAbility to demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge by providing innovative yet supportable solutions.Excellent written and presentation communication skills with the capacity to articulate complex technical topics to varying customer audiences (administrators to executives).Ability to deal with ambiguity by making the appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
