The Kraft Bag Account Manager position for International Paper is expected to safely and successfully perform the function of selling paper bags and sacks in the marketplace to achieve planned sales objectives and satisfy customer needs. The Account Manager must be able to analyze and meet all customer requirements including scheduling, quality, delivery, and resolve customer problems while maintaining account profitability and production efficiency.
New Customer/Business Development: Engage opportunities within markets to fulfill customers product and service needs. Develop prospects by crafting and executing Key Account Plans. Invest the time and energy into face to face sales call to assess needs, provide solutions, and develop relationships. Build knowledge of market pricing in order to quote price and quantify profitability.
Customer Relations: Assure continued profitability and growth of existing accounts by providing exceptional service through listening, problem solving, developing knowledge of customers business, aligning goals and priorities, responding timely, and consistent interaction to broaden and deepen relationships. Demonstrates poise and capability in front of a broad range of people including executives, decision makers, purchasing, and retail/grocery store personnel. Capable of providing training one:on:one or in a group setting.
Work effectively with teams in customer service, production, shipping, and scheduling across International Papers Kraft Bag Plants to satisfy customer needs. Buy in to the divisions commitment to quality by documenting and addressing quality issues impacting customers and participate in rectification processes. Work with financial teams regarding invoicing, payment, and credit. Be the expert on your customers in order to forecast customer demand monthly and participate in annual budget creation and execution. Provide weekly comments on market and sales activities.
:Minimum experience: 1:5 years outside sales experience.
:Bachelors degree required.
:Experience selling to retailers, preferably within the grocery, food service, and distribution channels.
:Demonstrated track record of effectively opening new accounts. Demonstrated expertise in closing sales and developing relationships with customers.
:Knowledge of pricing strategies and business acumen.
:Strong oral and written communication skills.
:Proficiency in conducting meetings utilizing effective presentations/sales tools.
:Decision maker with good follow through skills.
:Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
:Time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
:Ability to negotiate with customers, identify and overcome objections.
:Willing to provide the necessary service to follow up and retain successful sales.
:Computer and Internet skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
:Ability to travel within an assigned geographic sales territory, including overnight travel.
