PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Technical Project Manager (TPM)/Sales Engineer (SE) is responsible for becoming the trusted technical advisor, creating the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) technology vision, shaping the customers specifications and assisting the sales support team in compliance to the customers needs in additional support the technical project management portion of proposals. The TPM/SE is the primary technical resource for the field sales force and the bridge to the sales support team and post award implementation team. The TPM/SE is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the trusted advisor and product advocate for EFJohnson solutions. The TPM/SE must be able to articulate end:to:end P25/LMR/LTE solutions and product positioning to both business and technical users. The TPM/SE must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned opportunities to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The TPM/SE must establish and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales cycle. The TPM/SE must have the ability to mitigate proposal risk from a technical point of view and develop pricing and associated documents to deliver 3rd party quotes and SOWs.
:Establish risk analysis and mitigation plan, work breakdown structures, and schedules for RFP proposals
:Facilitate effective communication across the organizations, both verbal and written
:Develop 3rd party contracts (SOW, Schedule, NRE, etc) and negotiate pricing with external Vendors
:Responds to special
assignments/projects as directed by management, with an attitude of willingness and urgency conducive to the company and project.
:Responsible for driving the technology vision for EFJohnson solutions
:Responsible for pre:sales delivery of P25/LMR/LTE (system and subscriber) product demonstrations
:Responsible for shaping and responding to functional and technical elements of RFxs.
:Responsible for conveying customer requirements to the sales support team and Product Line Management
:Responsible for representing the products / solutions to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
:Consultant to the sales team and customers, advising best fit technical solutions throughout the sales process
:Assist in the development of strategic partnerships and qualification of business opportunities
:Assist sales directors in LMR sales strategy.
:Schedules and coordinates supporting team activities to successfully close sales opportunities.
:Articulate corporate messaging and vision in prospecting, trade shows, presentations to individuals and groups, proposal preparation and contract negotiation.
:Develop strong relationships and map all influencers within opportunities.
:Gather market intelligence on competitive activities including products, pricing, strategies and tactics.
:Accurately maintain customer contact information in CRM.
:Assist Sales Team in achieving specific revenue, scheduling, and customer satisfaction goals.
:Maintains educational level as dictated by the market place and/or senior management.
:Communicates with Executive Management Team (EMT), team leaders, and team members to ensure goals are attained and problems are resolved quickly.
:Ability to work the required hours of the position including 75 overnight travel with periods of week:long absences when preparing bid responses or attending shows and seminars.
:CS, CE, EE, or related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
:Five plus years sales or domain experience with state and local government or public safety.
:Experience selling in the Public communications/ LMR solutions / LTE / telecommunications preferred. Sales engineering experience in opportunity sales, including responsibilities in customer presentati
