MEDICAL CITY DALLASPosition Summary:Supports public relations and community relations activities for Medical City Plano including media relations, community relations, sponsorships, events, publications, and content generation. Works collaboratively with strategic communications team to prepare and disseminate information and content regarding Medical City Plano through various content channels to help maintain a favorable public image for the organization and its representatives. Provides support for corporate communications activities and events. Provides general office support.II. Essential Duties1. Supports public relations outreach including print, broadcast, and digital placement of hospital:related news stories. Adheres to patient privacy protocols. A: Maintain media contact list and editorial calendarsA: Arranges for and produces still photos and videos to supplement news releases and publications.A: Proposes, researches, writes and/or edits contest nominations for hospital.A: Uses social media tools in coordination with Digital Media Director and Marketing Managers to increase visibility, membership, and traffic across the Medical City Plano brand and services.1. Stays abreast of hospital news, trends, services, and objectives. A: Contributing writer for hospital employee newsletterA: Contributing writer for community health magazineA: Contributes content for social media, PodCasts, Web site and blogA: Arranges for and produces still photos and videos to supplement publications and social media.A: Proofread and review all content prior to publication.A: Seeks appropriate approval from director and others before disseminating information2. Supports and coordinates events and programs in coordination with Division and hospital goals.A: Supports community outreach programs/initiatives for hospitalA?s community involvement.A: Supports Kids Teaching Kids and other community outreach programs.A: Provides general office and data management support including event surveys and registrations.Required Skills:1. Communication : Seeks first to understand, then to be understood. Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for a variety of internal and external audiences. Ability to communicate with physicians, administrators, and clinicians and exhibit sensitivity to politics among departments, organizations, and partners.2. Organization : Exhibits excellent organizational and project management expertise, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. 3. Planning : begins with the end in mind; defines the desired outcomes of projects. Uses project management theory tools as appropriate; schedules time using a proven method; works in a timely manner; organizes time and work to enhance productivity; prioritizes work according to goals; Honors others time. 4. Problem Solving : Works proactively with other departments; willing to do what it takes to accomplish team and individual goals and needs; develops a pro/con analysis assesses impact of decisions; Displays a can:do attitude.5. Demonstrates advanced writing and editing skills in a variety of formats including digital. Understands biomedical concepts in a way to effectively promote engaging consumer health information. Demonstrates outstanding command of English language.6. Performs others related duties. Attends, conducts, and participates in hospital and/or department and committee meetings. 7. Utilizes content and syndication tools, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Social Media, and Sharepoint. Education and Experience:A: BachelorA?s degree in communications, public relations, or related field requiredA: Minimum of 1+ years experience. Health care experience preferred.
