The position will be responsible for ensuring Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are properly applied to the reporting ofstore sales for U.S. and Canada retail operations. Relevant accounting topics include sales completion controls, asset accountingreconciliations for manufacturers coupon A/R and stores change fund as well as various non:standard retail sales reporting arising fromacquisitions.Develop an indepth understanding of the stores cash reporting process including the various complex business transaction flows and thecorresponding accounting implications by developing keen analytical skills based on interviewing internal and external stakeholders, andconsulting the relevant accounting guidance. Perform and respond to requests for review and analysis pertaining to stores cash reportingresults as they arise. Discuss recommendations with accounting management, especially relevant to changes which will improve theaccuracy and / or efficiency of existing exception reviews and ensure process integrity. Manage a team of approximately 8:12 accountingcoordinators and staff accountants. Educate supervisory and clerical staff on accounting principles and the real:world application of thoseprinciples to daily and monthly processes. Ensure timely team response to Accounting Customer Service cases and exception resolution.Work closely with the Acquisition Integration Team, Revenue Accounting groups, and Gas Accounting to share information and solutionspertaining to unique or challenging cash reporting situations or unusual data situations impacting these upstream and downstream groups.Meet monthly accounting period close deadlines. Serve as BPO of the legacy Cash System, the key mainframe entry screens, and related tothe legacy cash accounting system. Provide significant contributions to and / or lead special projects, such as, systems upgrades and implementations, and mergers and acquisitions impacts to the stores cash reporting process. Respond to monthly, quarterly, and annual auditrequests from internal and external auditors. Maintain process flow documentation, narratives and controls to support SOX compliance.Education: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree, CPA required. Experience: 7+, GAAP, RIS, Cash Report and Non:integrated gas knowledge. Strong analytical andproblem:solving skills are required to understand and appropriately respond to a variety of business process issues.. Strong written and oralcommunication skills are required to prepare process documentation and resolve various stores cash reporting issues.. The position alsorequires strong computer skills in both legacy mainframe and PC applications. Microsoft Office programs (particularly Word and Excel) areheavily used. Strong organizational skills are required to identify and prioritize deadlines across multiple assignments.. Extensivetransactional accounting knowledge or the skills exhibited to obtain the detail knowledge: especially related to non:integrated gas, specificforms of tender, impact of sales reporting, etc
