What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Fraud Investigator manages and executes investigative measures intended to deliver significant reductions in losses associated with external fraudulent activity that negatively impact the Company's profits, brand, operations and customers. The position conducts and supports Company-wide external investigations. The position is responsible for developing investigative plans, gathering and evaluating facts, conducting investigative interviews, writing investigative reports, presentations to management and supporting global security mandates. The role calls for extensive interface with law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies and ongoing cultivation of such networks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations designed to dismantle and/or severely disrupt organized equipment theft and fraud rings impacting the Company.
  • Serve as a content contributor in developing and delivering an advocacy and awareness program aimed at educating law enforcement, prosecutorial, regulatory agencies as well as advocacy groups which can positively impact mitigation objectives.
  • Support the Market President by implementing initiatives aimed at preventing, detecting, investigating and mitigating fraudulent activity that impact operational, financial and reputational assets.
  • Conduct and support Company-wide investigations regarding fraud.
  • Provide recommendations for the implementation of policies and procedures, and creation or modification of systems in order to prevent and/or minimize loss or liability.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships throughout the South Central Market as well as all other Markets in order to support the Company-wide security program.
  • Interact with all levels of Company personnel on security matters and support security initiatives for all departments.
  • Identify, develop and recommend process improvements for the business.
  • Ensure the safety and security of employees, and the protection/security of proprietary information and physical assets.

What we’re looking for...

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Education: 4-year college degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience, required. MBA, or equivalent advance degree, preferred.
  • Work Experience: 4+ years of equivalent work experience required, specifically formal experience in conducting field investigations and formal investigative interviewing experience.
  • Certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) or equivalent certificate preferred.
  • Practical experience in developing and delivering training, awareness and advocacy programs tailored to law enforcement, prosecutorial and investigative community.
  • Knowledge of billing, provisioning and point of sale systems.
  • Civil and/or criminal litigation support experience and in-depth knowledge of law enforcement practices involving sophisticated investigations, prosecutions and providing testimony.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to write concise and factual investigative reports.
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate facts and objectively analyze situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong knowledge of on-line Open Source and proprietary intelligence research databases preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Verizon Wireless practices or knowledge of cellular equipment and networks preferred.
  • Data warehouse/data mining skills and reporting capabilities; experience in extracting data from the VZW data warehouse or other large data warehouses preferred.
  • Established network in the IP/financial investigations segment of the law enforcement community preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and matters is essential.
  • Extremely strong project management skills with proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Diplomacy in dealing with Company personnel.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Highly developed analytical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process high volumes of work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel and able to respond to emergency security matters on a 24 x 7 basis.
