POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transfer Center Operations Coordinator provides day to day operational management of the Transfer Center to ensure accomplishment of organizational mission and objectives.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Working knowledge of the principles and practices of air medical and EMS communications, operations and /or healthcare management.
-Knowledge of State and National rules and regulations pertaining to healthcare, transfer centers and patient transport, including EMTALA.
-Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of the healthcare team.
-Proven leadership skills that demonstrate capability to ensure organizational productivity and high level of teamwork within the organization.
-The responsibility to refine the customer-centered process for the Transfer Center for customers including but are not limited to patients, referring and attending physicians, and referring facilities.
-Builds respect and authority through consensus building, information sharing, problem solving, and achieving customer satisfaction.
-Customers and their needs, ensuring that needs are met, responding appropriately to difficult interactions, and educating the staff on the importance of quality customer service.
-Responsible for the ongoing administration and documentation of internal QA/QI process.
-Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks correctly and timely; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.
-Exemplary customer service and operational efficiency skills.
-Effectively and continually communicates with the director, staff, and customers to facilitate the flow of information necessary to the success of the employees, department and the organization.
-Working with the Director, assists in the development of relevant reports and the sharing of findings with appropriate parties.
-Resource to Communication Specialists and R.N.s in resolving placement and transportation issues.
-Participates in various marketing and public relations activities.
-Assist with the evaluation, analysis, and development of reporting and analytical tools to analyze department and division performance indicators.
-Support the development and maintenance of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting of the North Texas Division and all hospitals simultaneously.
-Collaborate with key decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and clarify management objectives.
-Break systems into their component parts, assign numerical values to each component, and examine the mathematical relationships between them.
-Collaborate with DSS and others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.
-Work with the Director to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot outside vendor software and technologies.
-Development of intra-departmental reporting tools and databases.
-Provide guidance, training, and technical support to department staff on all department related software.
-Maintain and develop methods to stay abreast and make recommendation based trends that impact the department and division.
-Adhere to the policies and procedures in regards to database infrastructure and data security within the department and those set forth by HCA.
-Maintain current software and ensure data integrity.
-Assist HCA Corporate, S.R.G and other HCA Divisions with the development and implementation of standardized reporting.
