Based in The Woodlands, Texas, Emerus has more than 1,000 employees, with expert concentrations in over 20 different fields throughout the medical industry.The Patient Access Manager is responsible for leading all daily Patient Access operations.Implement and promote excellent customer serviceMaintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and all other hospital and government regulations applicable to the Admissions settingsEffectively manage and direct all areas of registration to ensure quality, productivity, and customer servicePerform patient registration functions when needed to ensure wait times are kept to a minimumEnsure QA on registrations for all areas of registrationCompile, analyze, and report data for Patient Access quality measuresEnsure collection of payments and cash drawer reconciliation and perform audits accurately and in a timely mannerPerform audits on transfersPrepare and make weekly depositsEnsure insurance authorizations are obtained as required by individual insurance plansManage and approve timecardsMaintain dietary logs and order food as neededOrder office supplies and employee snacks as neededDistribute mail appropriatelyManage worklists within the patient accounting systemComplete monthly work schedule as needed to ensure adequate staffing levelsInterview, hire, evaluate, and counsel Patient Access staff membersProvide continuous training for and communicate changes to existing employeesTrain new employees in all aspects of their assigned jobResponsible for staff meeting content as appropriateEnsure all personnel policies are followedWork closely and professionally with regional and corporate staff on special projectsCover shifts when necessaryMaintain a clean working environment for the facility. This includes the front desk, restroom, waiting room, break area and patient rooms when assistance is needed by medical staffNotify appropriate contact of any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needsPerform month:end procedures including but not limited to: shredding charts, boxing up charts and emptying binders for next monthAttend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as requiredNotary PublicPerform additional duties as assignedHigh School Diploma or GED, required2+ years supervisory experience in health care setting, strongly preferred3+ years registration experience in hospital admitting or physicianA?s office, strongly preferredKnowledge of various types of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, and Medicaid.) and payors, requiredBasic understanding of medical terminologyExcellent customer serviceWorking knowledge with MS Office( MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), requiredPosition requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
