Job Summary

Maximize customer satisfaction by creating and maintaining parts operations, which are responsive to customer needs. This includes timely, high quality parts service at competitive costs to the customer while maintaining sufficient profit margins and professional image for Superior Industrial Products.

Reporting

Parts management reports directly to the General Manager. Individuals who report to the Parts manager may include Product Support Representatives, Parts Supervisors (as required), Sales or Parts correspondents as well as Shipping and Receiving Personnel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

:Train, manage and motivate parts associates to meet or exceed a high standard of customer service. Create an environment in which associates are self:motivated and responsive to the needs of the customer.
:Maintain and implement systems and documentation for inventory control. Establish procedures that assure quality service at optimum inventory levels and turn ratios as agreed upon or defined by management.
:Select and train a motivated staff that is capable of meeting current or projected human resource needs. Take charge of various personnel matters, including performance reviews, salaries and terminations.
:Establish methods for reporting the status of all parts operations to management.
:Develop and manage a business and marketing plan with budget for management review and approval.
:
Implement department goals and policies to ensure quality products and timely parts services.
:Maintain continuous contact and positive relationships with customers and equipment vendors. Schedule time for department sales and marketing as well as visits with customers and vendors. Proactively call on present and prospective customers; actively promote the quality parts services of the company.
:Confers with customers as required in performing the assigned responsibilities of Parts Manager
:
Promote safety procedures and rules, including the proper disposal of hazardous waste or scrap parts and materials.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

:Maintain positive communications with all company managers and departments.
:Develop strong product line knowledge.
:Produce timely management reports for the service department.
:Conduct training for department personnel; maintain high competency levels for all product lines.
:
Monitor and encourage superior customer communication skills for all department personnel.
:Take initiative in developing new methods and procedures for the department as required.

Skills Required

:Must demonstrate a high degree of communication and organizational skills to include the ability logic and constructive thinking to solve problems.
:Provide effective oral and written communications to customers, management and vendors.
:Must be able to perform mathematical calculations, including decimals and percentages.
:Possesses the ability to perform medium duty physical work, including sufficient strength and agility to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently handle loads to 20 pounds.
:
Must have the physical stamina to handle 10:pound loads continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc.

Education and Work Experience

:Must be PC literate and posses a thorough knowledge of general business procedures. These may be acquired via secondary education or additional college level courses, trade school training, or previous employment experience relevant to the position.
:Has general knowledge of business administration with a high degree of mechanical knowledge and experience.
:Possesses five to ten years of relevant business experience with previous supervisory experience. Must have a working knowledge of service operations and computerized parts programs.
