Job Description:/h3:
We have an immediate opening for a Welding Engineer at our plant in Irving, TX .
Welding Engineer will be a part of the Manufacturing Support Team and will work closely with the corporate CRW (Controls, Robotics, and Welding) standards team and R and D. The position will be a part of leading the welding standardization process across all the manufacturing facilities and be a technical resource for the corporate engineering team. Expected travel for this position will be 20 with the majority of travel being in the greater TX area.
Responsibilities
:Support in driving standardization across the following joining processes in manufacturing:
:GMAW
:DAW
:RSW
:Developing training documentation on the above joining processes in relationship to quality requirements of the customer.
:Trouble shoot welding (GMAW, RSW, and DAW) issue on production tooling.
:Develop welding schedules for (GMAW, RSW and DAW) on ferrous and nonferrous material.
:Participate in design reviews for upcoming new projects.
:Interface with new equipment vendors and customers (internal and external).
Minimum Experience:
:2:3 years experience in a welding manufacturing environment, automotive experience preferred.
:Welding experience in RSW, GMAW and DAW on a variety of low carbon and high strength steels.
:Robotic welding experience, ABB and Fanuc preferred.
:Destructive testing experience (setting up the process and training others) for RSW, DAW and GMAW processes.
:Strong organizational skills and ability to multi:task in a global manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience:
:5+ years RSW, GMAW and DAW experience in welding manufacturing in the automotive industry
:Developing and troubleshooting GMAW and RSW on different grades of aluminum and AHSS.
:Experience with Tessonics RSWA devices and Paxit metallographic inspection systems.
:Training inexperienced people with destructive and nondestructive testing methods.
:Developing and writing work instructions as they pertain to different welding and inspection operations.
:Excellent planning, organizational, written and verbal communication skills with MS office proficiencypany Description:/h3:
