Job Description:/h3:
:I. Job Summary:
The primary function on this position is to focus on assigned accounts and have stewardship over the entire customer experience. The Account Manager will work through the shared resources of Implementation, Customer Service, Routing, Tracking, Costing, I.T., Risk Management, Accounting and others to ensure all client expectations are documented, executed and reported accordingly.
:II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle all incoming calls in a timely, professional, courteous manner
Must be confident, team oriented person, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
Ability to make timely, appropriate, independent decisions to resolve service issues
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Works directly with clients for quotes/pricing of shipments
Expected to handle order entry/data entry of all shipment specifics with 100 accuracy
Responsible for overseeing movement of shipments from time of pickup to delivery (dispatch, routing, tracking, costing, rating, confirm delivery, and invoice)
Will be responsible for verifying and approving customer invoices, as well as formulating the billing invoices
Will assist our accounting department by providing backup information as necessary
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, as well as recognize new business opportunities
Must have thorough knowledge of specific account SOPs and KPIs
Maintain all internal and external reporting needs as necessary and as requested by client or management
Participate in cross training and continuous skill development
Must be able to occasionally work weekends and after:hours during peak times
:III. Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Thorough knowledge of the transportation industry along with good understanding of purchasing, distribution and marketing of the clients business. Must be personable and able to interact with a wide variety of mindsets in order to set and accomplish client and Pegasus objectives. Must also have account level P and L management knowledge along with strong general business acumen. Project and Process Management experience with MS Visio and Project preferable
