As an Operations Support Engineer on our Billing Operations team, you will support billing operations for over 110 million subscribers for both Verizon wireline and wireless. You will work on all Java based platforms. You will execute and automate the daily capture, monitoring and controlling of billing operational metrics. You will be a part of our team as we move to new technologies including AWS.
•Provide constant process improvements to ensure all billing processes are executed to produce millions of bills/month on time and accurately. Any delays in producing the bills will have adverse impacts to customers.
•Manage the platform upgrade of the application to comply with Verizon standard security policies.
•Work with the team in shift-mode to support 24/7/365 - requires working on certain weekends and holidays.
•Work in a fast paced, dynamic operations environment with geographically distributed teams.
•Work closely with various teams to drive efficiencies. Including deployments, issue tracking and debugging issues.
•Make continuous process improvements through performance enhancements, automation of repeated manual processes.
•Monitoring the server and application health check frequently.
•Troubleshoot production issues and work closely with various teams to resolve the issues, ensuring stability and performance of the production environment.
•Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
•Four or more years of relevant work experience
•Experience in OOPs, Java, JDBC, SOAP, Web Services, Oracle databases, and SQL
•Experience monitoring and troubleshooting within WebLogic and Spring framework
•Experience within Unix/Linux as well as Shell scripting
Ideally, you will also have:
•Knowledge of Jira and Jenkins
•Knowledge of AWS
•Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams
•Communication & stakeholder management skills
•Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues
