The Project Managers role is to plan, execute, and finalize software development projects according to quality, schedule and budget objectives. The Project Manager will work with business, internal and 3rd party IT personnel to define the projects objectives and scope and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Ensures system solution meets business vision, overall architecture direction and is developed in the most effective and efficient way possible.Software Requirements Management.Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders, both customers and end:users. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to development teams throughout the computer hardware and software lifecycle. Oversee the translation of business needs into system requirements. Make sure that all stakeholders receive accurate, timely communication. Proactively identify additional communication opportunities and implement.Application and Interface architecture.Ensures system solution meets business vision, overall architecture direction and is developed in the most effective and efficient way possible. Acts as a link with the development partner to validate estimates, deliverables and design and monitor development activities.Research 3rd party software and technical solutions and set direction for system change to meet business requirements. Assist with the evaluation and selection of 3rd party software vendors. Ensure modifications support the overarching 7:Eleven system architecture plan.Project Management. Monitor the vendor performance to project plan. Communicate status and concerns appropriately. Ensure proper status reporting throughout the life of the project. Manage communication between project teams and business leads. Monitor the management of project related issues and risks and engage for resolution as needed. Ensure project managed to budget.Manage internal and 3rd party Project Manager Resources to complete project activities, confirm estimates, develop overall implementation plan.Methodology and Quality Assurance. Oversee solution development from partners and 3rd party vendors. Represent solution to business and ensure alignment with direction. Oversee development activities and ensure appropriate standards and quality solution developed and documentation standards are maintained. Identify and implement Software Delivery Lifecycle Cycle process changes and participate in and support testing as needed. Provide guidance on changes required throughout the design process.Supervision and Mentoring. Establish growth plans for developers and mentor as needed.Assist vendor PMs in defining project team requirements for a particular project.Ensure activity tracking and status reporting objectives are met.Prioritize to ensure that deadlines are met despite competing priorities.Handle escalations outside office hours and resolve with a sense of urgency.Share and document metrics, challenges, learningA?s, and best practices and incorporate into processes.Education: Bachelors/4 Yr. Degree required or equivalent project management experience within retail or fuels industry.PMP certification and experience within fuels or oil and gas highly preferred. Experience: 4:6 years of Retail and Store Applications, SDLC, Project Management, SOA architecture.Experienced with Software Development Lifecycle in an outsourced, offshore software development environment. Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Project management skills for large, multi year, multi vendor projects.Experience managing Retail Information System (RIS) Software development projects.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong experience in use of MS Office products : specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Power Point.Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and ability to translate technical terms to non:technical leadership teams.
