Company: G6 HospitalityPOSITION SUMMARY: The Sales Tax Associate is responsible for the preparation, payment and filing of multistate State and Local Sales/Use/Occupancy tax returns for economy lodging properties. This position plays a key role within the Sales/Use team to ensure that required documentation is efficiently gathered and prepared for timely sales/use/occupancy filings. The Sales Tax AssociateA?s responsibilities include but are not limited to the preparing tax returns, processing returns for payment, and researching return inquiries from tax jurisdictions. This individual must be detail:oriented, have the ability to meet deadlines and work well as part of a team.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The individual occupying this position must be able to perform essential job functions set forth below with or without reasonable accommodation.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Gather documents necessary to support tax return positionsPrepare multistate sale/use/occupancy returns Process reviewed returns for timely payment and filing on a monthly basisFile all returns and supporting documentation on a weekly basisPrepare tax rate change requests for review Escalate issues to management when appropriateResearch jurisdictional ordinances as needed Research inquiries from tax jurisdictions and communicate findings to managementCommunicate with tax jurisdictions regarding notices or questions Perform general ledger account reconciliations This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the individual occupying this position.
